Stay True to Yourself

Don't worry about what people think of you or about the way they try to make you feel. If people want to see you as a good person, they will. If they want to see you as a bad person, absolutely nothing you do will stop them. Ironically, the more you try to show them your good intentions, the more reason you give them to knock you down if they are commited to misunderstanding you. Keep your head up high and be confident in what you do. Be confident in your intentions and keep your eyes ahead instead of wasting your time on those who want to drag you back. Because you can't change people's views, you have to believe that true change for yourself comes from within you, not from anyone else.

You can be the nicest Peron in the world
But nothing could come out of it
The words you say could be wore of enlightenment
But many will not listen
You could tell the world of a thing called love
Yet he met with utter hate

To stay true to yourself
Is to know who you are
When you gaze the stars
and out of the corner of your eye
Thats me
The the lone star

I don't fit in,
I don't follow the crowd.
I ain't be cheatin',
I ain't bein' loud.
I just keep livin'
And makin' my own sound.
I find the truth in
Myself. And I'm proud.

Stay true to yourself and don't ever falter,
Your personality and image you shouldn't alter,
For somebody else, it's just a lost cause,
Before you change who you are, think about it and pause,
Ask yourself if it is worth the lie,
Of being someone you're not, stop and ask yourself why,
Stay true to yourself, because God made you beautiful,

The lone star
Out there off in the distance
Shining bright from afar
Gone in an instance

I've turned and I've twisted myself to fit the mold they made for me
And now that I'm free
I'll never go back. I'll dance on my own
No I'm not lonely, just alone
Because I've found that stars need the dark to be bright
And I'm in my own little corner of night
When too many stars all follow the crowd
None of them glimmer, it's just too loud
None of the voices can be heard at a whisper
So I've learned to roar
I won't just fly
I will soar

The lone star with no name
Burning in love
Going insane
The lone star with no dream today
Who knows it’s better to burn out
Than to fade away
