DARK WAS THE NIGHT

ericjwolf28

Night and day come and go
while there he remains all alone.
All light fades away
while the shadows seem to dance all about.
Freedom is his while chains hold him in a place he does not want.
Far has he wandered in the dead of the night
when in his heart he soars on a dead man's dream.
With no place to go silence will be what he will always know.
Time moves on while death and life call his name
There in the middle he is found amongst the whispers.
So I think it's safe to say,
Though dark was the night far away he was even though there he remained.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is a sad one but I believe there are people out there that may be able to relate. Not everything in life goes our way, sometimes we become a prisoner to our own thoughts
