Autumn

matthew jay

Leaves

Wither

Surrender

They fall at your feet

Gasping

Visions of your beauty

They die

In defeat

  • Comment from author about the poem: The leaves in all their splendor did not compare to your beauty when we were young. They just gave up and died. My how you took my breath away. We were just barely adults. This of course is joking, leaves fall in the fall. I would tell you they shriveled because of you. I was happy to get this on today. I thought I would not have the time.
