Quiet Moment

M. Evermore

They flutter and fall

Brushing butterfly kisses

Against my cheeks

A man waves at me

Coal eyes unblinking

I laugh and look

At the angel on the ground

Already, it is disappearing

Inside, there is fire

And warmth

Yet, I stay out here

In the biting cold

With frost in my boots

And ice on my lashes

It is beautiful,

This scene

That only I will see

So I shall stand here,

Taking in this quiet moment

As snow falls from the Heavens
