To Forget

themoronicmuse

To Forget

Every ray of light in the darkness

That the whispering leaves hold on to

In midmorning's honeyed hues

Upon wings of mellow dew

Forsaken by the ether, to fall upon grass

To never remember and weep, alas

That which was lost was precious to the world

In whose curled fist, lay music unheard.

Upon wings of mellow dew

That shadows have scorned

Those silver'd jewels of dawn

Which by daylight adorned

The memory of morning

In holy Spring's sight

Which cross'd by moon's light

Tarried with the birds' flight

Verily, the skies should break

The firmament, fractured

To repent for those humbled tears

That the leaves have now captured.
