Tiny Blue Light

Charles Edward York

Tiny blue light, keep smiling tonight.
Shine brightly your cobalt blue.
Accompany this child's sleepy sight
With courage where I dare go.

Tiny blue light, keep glowing tonight.
Surround me with azure gleam.
Let no monsters or demon's fright
Be where I slip off to dream.

Tiny blue light, keep shining tonight.
Your sea sheel shape all in blue
Be my little angel in darkness alight
Keep me safe till all is new.

My favorite color being blue, I couldn't simply skim past this. I've done some delving on your Instagram (Forgive me for prying) and have since been made aware of your current situation. If this poem is recent, or new, then I commend you for writing in such a strenuous time. This poem is an ode to one of the most beautiful things naturally occurring, which I often like to see. Your poem "The Horror" was also a good read. The final line hit well. Best wishes.

This is gonna sound corny but I really appreciate the time and effort that you took to read my poems and to look at my Instagram profile page.

Tiny blue light was a poem that I thought about as I sat in the bathroom looking at the night light and trying to imagine what a little boy would think if he was scared.

Juxtapoosed to dad the poem The Horror was my take on what it was like when I meant military veterans who had seen death wholesale murder of human beings and violence unprecedented in civilian life. Even though I come from a military family I have nothing but the lowest regard for warfare. I respect a men and women who have to serve but I don’t envy them for what they have to do.

Again thanks for reading my poems I should spend some time looking for yours.
