Nightfall

M. Evermore

The quiet was peaceful,

and the sky was alight

with stars that shined as brightly

as our souls shined

in the moonlight.

And the smell was intoxicating,

like fresh roses blooming,

or spring green arriving early

on a cold winter's evening.

The sun was just setting,

and the moon just arising,

and some were just sleeping,

and others just rising,

on this peaceful, quiet, moonlit night.

A much enjoyed read. Reminded me of clockwork under the moon.
