My Spinning Mind
My mind is like a revolving door
which you use to enter and depart
bringing me elation and amore
and taking prized pieces of my heart.
Although a clock is always ticking
I somehow forget the time of day
for I know those gears are clicking
marking the time ‘til you run away.
And now a carousel is spinning
driving me like a herd of horses
racing to make a new beginning
and stopping to cut my losses
What happened to our mutual time?
Where did our longest summer go?
You were missing for days at a time
and where you were I do not know.
Well, I know this, it’s surely over.
I can see the forest and the trees.
Take your stuff and what’s left of my heart
and give me a chance at life…please!

A haunting plea for a chance at life - and so poetically expressed that this piece ought to be wider read Phil - - the feel of mind-spinning confusion really comes through those two questions in stanza four - -- must have this in my list of favourites - - loved its powerful flow.
Thank you ever so much Fay. The power of love to confuse and detract is universal. Thought I'd write something to highlight its power. Thanks again.
Beautiful sad lines here.
Thank you Rozina. Poetry is beauty and vice versa.
