Mayโ€™s magic

L. B. Mek

Betwixt

Spring’s, April showers

and

Summer’s June furnace

There’s a season of quaintness

and blink-n-miss, deftness

blessed by subtle wondrousness

it’s a season I term:

May’s, morning magnificence!

Glimmering notes as-if from a golden Harp

Graceful tones of tranquil cloud-like rays of sunshine

Glide breezily between slick verdure leaves

Warming

eyes and nourishing embattled heart’s

and for those rare seconds or minutes

willingly

we take note and commune with nature

a part of us becomes the embodiment

of empowered, calmness

where

all is now

all is Tao

all is dow…

Before, we breathe

deep

Sigh, lengthily and expunge

mightily

Months, of our accumulated

winter’s, weariness

and just like that, we grasp

at a hovering smile

look again to treasure

Gaia’s gift

switch gears, back

to our hustle and bustle

of truly cherished, existence!

I love the way you write about the seasons, and I imagine....

what wonderful words to gift me, dear Poet
for what else does poetry exist, for
than to lure each other's imaginations
      in-to fields and images
      of endless, possibilities...
thank you! so glad you liked it

Must admit, the rain was hotter than usual when I went for a run this morning. May is the pointer to the rest of the year, and I'm thinking months of glorious sunshine to look forward to. Plus, the sun gets us all smiling, and living in Britain, you need a smile.

      • L. B. Mek

        Amen!
        a much needed break
        from that depressing, sandwich grey
        stuck between pavement
        and petulantly overcast, sky...
        lol
glad you enjoyed the read, my friend
        thank you!

This is glorius L.B. Mek. I will admit, you're a spledor. I adore your poetry, your words, so perfumed with passion and love.

I'm just blessed such forgiving eyes
are drawn to my humble scribbles
everything else, is just poetic 'magic'
          doing its thing.. lol
          thank you!
for such encouraging words, dear Poet
I'll do my best to earn them, eventually

i love the playfulness of the meter here, very cool write

          • L. B. Mek

            oh, that's just awesome!
            I was trying to imbue
            a sense of whimsical lightness
to the feel of the read
            without overburdening readers
            with technical cues and clues..
so glad you read my feeble effort at such a technical level
thank you! how very kind, dear Poet

              • L. B. Mek

                thunderbirds are GO!
                fun, without that safety harness
                of pre-emptive deliberation
have at it, my cherished friend

We long for Spring, after a harsh Winter, and the coolness of Autumn, having survived the heat of Summer, knowing that we need them all to feel alive, as your cherished words so poetically stated.

                • L. B. Mek

what a lovely wording of my sentiments for this scribble
                  only fully realised, simply beautiful..
                  thank you! dear Poet:
                  'We long for Spring, after
                  a harsh Winter,
and the coolness of Autumn, having
                  survived the heat of Summer'..

I had so much fun reading this. May is in my opinion the very best month (it's my birthday month) and it is that bridge between.
I liked how you used different schemed and patterns throughout; it created a unique rhythm that served the month of May well ๐Ÿ™‚

                    Happy Birthday! dear poet
yeah, just wanted to show May
                    some love
it sometimes can get overlooked, unfairly..
hope you have a great year ahead, cheers

That can only be described as melifluous. And the music of Helene Smith, that brought it to a whole new level. Reminded me somehow of that old Sidney Pottier film To Sir With Love, somehow. Random, but there. thanks L.B. for sharing. /Rik.

                        Love that film, and yes
even if it is in, black n white
as he's walking through the market
                        or leisurely, contemplatively
going down those school entrance, steps
                        I imagine May's, soothing sky
                        shepherding
                        his and those children's
                        paths..
                        (thank you! dear Poet
                        for gifting me that imagery
                        and a cherished new perspective
                        on my humble, scribble)

Oh, you just reminded me. In watching that film I always saw (or must've imagined) the buses and fruit in colour. How odd but true. Perhaps they would make a colourised version of the original. Curious to find out if it would change the impact of it.

                            Such calming and glorious words
"Glimmering notes as-if from a golden Harp
Graceful tones of tranquil cloud-like rays of sunshine

The tone of this poem sets one in the month of May with joyous weather whether one is in the Northern or Southern hemispheres.
