Silence

M. Evermore

The silence is not silent

If you listen,

You will hear the roar

Of the quiet

An absolute oxymoron

It is strange,

How peaceful it is,

Yet at the same time,

Not

It is chaotic

Springing

And leaping

Prancing

And singing

Hushes in the dark of night

Birdsong in the bright of day

If silence was a color,

It would be silver

Spools of silver thread,

Strings of silk webs

It sounds like a waterfall,

A river,

A sea

There are depths to the silence,

That will never be entered,

Will never be found,

Never discovered

An orchestra of unknown instruments

A phantom opera

A mirage of sound

It is everything it is not

A clap,

A crack,

A crash

A shattering of shards

Silence is but sound

And sound is but silence

Ying and Yang

There is beauty in opposites

In the emptiness

In the silence

'There are depths to the silence,
    That will never be entered,
    Will never be found,
    Never discovered
    An orchestra of unknown instruments
    A phantom opera
    A mirage of sound
It is everything it is not'..
    Brilliantly, deep dived
and articulated with such impassioned eloquence..
I agree with your theme completely.
In one of my previous scribbles
    about the benefits of meditation
I think I inked a line similar to
    'When we can hear, silence
    itself
maybe then, we can truly begin
    to try and attempt
    an understanding of ourselves'..
    thanks for sharing
