Bad Moon Rises

Bad Moon Rises

One evening in June

Dave crossed the short boardwalk

that carried him past

the Marram grass-filled sand dunes

onto the white sandy beach.

In the setting darkness

but in the light of the full-moon

he realized the shore was empty.

As it approached Sundown

he wondered, “Am I alone?”

until he saw the body

washed up at the tide mark.

Rushing to see if someone had drowned

he ran until he was about

twenty feet from a nearly naked woman

he had assumed was a body

who was dressed in only a nightgown

when she rose and ran into the sea.

He watched as the beautiful

blonde-haired vision dove

into an approaching wave and disappeared.

He disrobed and went in

searching for several minutes

but there was no sign of her…weird!
