Headphones my savior

Hoolihooli

headphones are the one thing that’s somehow saved me

I can’t leave the house without them, even in the house they are always near

Its never known when my parents will argue i can’t guess when they will yell and shout

When my dad will leave the house

lately my mom has threatened too

as much as my headphones help they cannot block out the sound

My parents are too loud the noise cancelling headphones become quiet

it scares me to go out with them because what If they cause a scene?
then the whole grocery store will see that I am the product of the problem marriage the two who should have never been parents

stop please stop your shouting stop your crying I can’t take it anymore

you can ditch the house and leave till the morning

but I am stuck here! And sick with you

if it were up to me I’d be gone with the rain

even though the rain never stops

no more afternoons do I want to have puffy eyes

that make me tired, so tired of you two

    you may also
    view this moment of strife
    as an opportunity..
    be present, witness
all that 'they' are doing, without shrinking
    instead
    try working out, why
they may be doing those things
    then
    take note and reassure yourself
    with the knowledge
    now, 'you' know
    what not, to do
    and begin
the process of crafting, that 'Who'
    you'll become
    when you get your chance
    to build a home..
    'We learn far more
    from our trials in life
    than our successes'..
    thanks for sharing
    stay strong! dear poet
