Can’t Be Still

Can’t Be Still

Oh has it been a day

My mind was 100 miles an hour

My body didn’t know how to feel

I’ve totally forgotten how to be still

Can’t focus on the moment at hand

Trying to get 10, 20, 30 minutes ahead

Can’t enjoy the meal thinking about the bill

Why oh why can’t I just be still

It used to work to my advantage

Creative thoughts flowing like a river

But it’s turned into a really big deal

Because now I just can’t be still

It’s a mind thing a chemical stew

No one really knows where it comes from

Only those who have it know it’s real

And know that feeling when you can’t be still
