Let me kiss it better

0121_Pedro

She could take no more,

called it quits,

to run and hide

from the things he did.

But he’d never let her go

being that kind of guy,

who was never happy

‘til he’d made her cry, and cry, and cry

he would tell her….

‘I never meant to hurt you, you know’

‘come here, let me kiss it better’

And now his time has come

‘I’m gonna make you see’!

another life lesson

in futility

‘Boy, what’s good for you’

‘it was good for me’

I’ve heard say that apples

fall close to the tree?

he would always tell him….

‘It wasn’t just to hurt you, you know’

‘come here, let me kiss it better’

Some people simply like to hurt others .. and are just not kind .

    • 0121_Pedro

Yes, I agree, and others are led down the wrong road. I have known both but they are not me, and neither is kind

Yeah , I think sometimes people act in ways that’s not exactly who they truly are ? But yeah never nice to be repeatedly hurt by someone else

        Very well written Pedro.

This gave me an imaginary scenario of a boy that witnessed the mother being abused by the father and later on just like she used to make it better for the little boy, he reached out to her, to kiss and make it better. It may be a totally different take but hopefully along the same feel. Thanks for sharing. /Rik.

Crypticbard, the fact that it had that affect on you means that the writing cut through, so that in itself is positive even though the subject matter isn’t at all nice, but in answer to you, mine was simply 2 different scenarios, one of the mother being treated cruelly and then the son being given what some might call ‘tough love’.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts 🙏
