A Lover's Emotions

A Lover’s Emotions

There is no contrast
between us and the darkness.
Our lips find one another’s,
the other’s body.
We search
for our contiguous rhythm.
      Cocooned,
one with the music,
      the space,
      each other,
Only to wake to begin anew.

---------------------------------

As a waning moon
cradles the dawn,
a lover’s promise is broken.
Just another lie
this night will spawn,
One more lover’s deception.

---------------------------------

Alone, I stare at the ceiling.

My tears are dry,

their tracks wiped away.

I ignore your calls

to forgive, and decided

to go out to begin anew.

And on goes the cycle of life and loving. An oft losing game where only wisdom is won. So well related in your words today.

First, I like to thank you for your kind words. The emotion we call love can twist a person into knots. In this poem I try to write about some of those twists and turns.
