I had a relative I loved
He died when I was a teenager
Friends and family talked to him
About accepting Jesus to have God's forgiveness
He refused throughout his life
The day he died his wife was there
He started talking loud then screaming
He was asking for more time and another chance
She said the way he died she knew he went to hell
She was so upset she wouldn't tell all that happened
Choosing to take to the grave all the details
Crying for weeks after, she kept saying she was petrified to die
Don't let people here who hate God, or in your life deceive you
There is eternal consequences for rejecting Jesus as Savior
I never saw fear in my relative while he lived here
Whatever he saw while dying was terrifying to him
Remember, though we have difficult lives here, we have love here too
No matter how bad it is here
This is not hell
I never saw him scream about anything seen here either
What he saw was something new
Something never experienced before
Something terrifying
footnote*
The relative of this write went to church for over 40 years. He told another relative of mine shortly before he died, while at church, "You really believe this stuff huh?" Why he went to church all those years when he didn't believe only he knew.

- Comment from author about the poem: I know most people die quietly. I believe God allowed her to witness this to share it with my family. It made such an impression on me. God knew I would share it at this time with an unbelieving world. I felt compelled to put this on as my last write here. If you accept Jesus as your Savior, you can die in peace. For we go to be with him, those who have accepted him. Good bye...Matt
