untitled love poem

queer-with-a-pen

while it may be true

that the way to a man’s

heart is through his stomach,

i chose to crack open my

ribcage for you

and your longing was just

as hungry as mine,

two beasts that devour

in the same way

what a feast

my heart would make for you,

my love

all you have to do is ask

and i will fill this table to creaking

with all the foods you enjoy,

and drink to chase back the light

and maybe i’ll leave in the morning,

or you’ll beat me to that particular punchline,

but when we were

when we are

together

i forget the rest

    'and your longing was just
    as hungry as mine,
    two beasts that devour
    in the same way

    what a feast'..
    (from music to choice wording
    and bated, breath - pacing
    you've imbued, so much sincerity
    I can't help
but wear these words, all day
as they linger, between my thoughts
and sway me to once again
    dip - in
    those idolised reembraces
    of once, forgotten scenes
    and fantasy musings
    of future connections, as yet
    unforeseen...)
    (Brilliant!!!
    thank you, dear cherished Poet)

Love can be a fickle mystery. It’s best enjoyed in the moment, is my take on this one. Very well written in your unique style, my talented friend.

Love is the sweetest when noticed. I am very fortunate to have loved a man like the captain for so long. Always good to hear from you, my friend!
