Silence is a thing of the past,
A choice forbidden,
Replaced by tinny speakers
Eager to sell you a playlist,
An environment,
Promising to wipe out your thoughts.
Even the gas pumps scream
At you to buy carbonated sugar-water, hot dogs, and killer pizza.
