There’s a road that leads to nowhere
But you take it anyway
You don’t think about where you’ll end up
Just the here and now today
You live by laughs
And making up excuses
Pay no attention to addiction
And who it seduces
Growing up is unique for everyone
But we all end up on down the road
How you survive life
Depends on your life’s code
Sooner or later
You’ll see the writing on the wall
Your friends all dying one by one
Your name next on the list to call
The time to get real is now
Before it’s too late
Cause running out of time
Is no time to wait
If you fall down, get up

The person you want to be

As I mentioned in the author comment, the song by Paul McCartney and Wings in the video was the inspiration about recovering from addictions. But it can also conform to recovering from depression of various sources. I hope you've found new strength and smiles Christina. Thanks for the read. 😉

Love this. There were so many times I felt like giving up. Suffering from bipolar depression, I contemplated giving up, in the worst way. Somehow I pulled myself out of that black hole and kept on trying and didn't give up.
Congratulations Jeannie. Many don't have the fight that you did. And it takes more than tough guts to overcome the demons that haunt a person. I myself survived my own demon's onslaught of guilt from many years of growing up. There's a song by Gary Alan called, "Learning to live With Me" that puts a lot into perspective.
