Follow The Light

hzugman

I followed the light grudgingly but persistently

My last cigarette tasted horrible and my tongue is now sour as Hell

I kept thinking how stupid this is but also kept walking

I'll never get there in time at this rate and it's too late to turn back now

They could have picked somebody else but no such luck

Wet shoes and damp socks what a mess

But I need the money and will make the stupid report

I'm never going to do this again.

Where did the damned light disappear to? Darn!
