One minute I'm sure
the next I am not
My future seems clear
and then it is shot
To hell in a second
for my mind has changed
My feelings are hurt
no way can I claim
That I know what I want
uncertainty's set in
Why am I like this
I can't even begin
To describe how this feels
my life's in shambles
I have a good heart
my head just rambles
On with logic for
I see every side
Of life's perspectives
this I cannot hide.
There's more than one right
so how do I know
Which right to choose
which way to go?
Sometimes I think
the best I can do
Is to exit this life
for a heavenly view.
And then it hits me
like it does every time
That this step backwards
will turn on a dime.
Two steps forward
will soon follow
This world offers too much
to sit and wallow.
So instead I get up
and walk outside
To soak up the sunshine
while refusing to backslide.
