Nowhere to Go

Thomasine Dye

I have nothing left to say

I’ve said everything on my mind

Years spent writing it all down

My life is meeting the end of its time

I have nowhere to go

I am well and truly alone

Those who know me resent me

I reap the harvest I have sown

I have what I wanted

The Hell I always knew I deserved

Yet this too is an empty thing

As is everything I have observed

There are pleasures left

Cakes I have yet to bake

Yet Tea-Time is just another fleeting fancy

So I am not afraid to go away

Even a short time on this Earth

Seems many lifetimes too long

My mind is leaving me

Everything is hazy and wrong

Very moving. The melancholic grips me tight and I can't help but to reread it all over again.
