flowers grow in spring time
shooting up to try and catch the moon
sparkling in the eyes of the stars
and flowing against the cool breeze
finally blooming in the crisp spring air
under a clouded sun
displaying its perfect crimson petals
each one so beautifully soft
spectacular green leaves
pointing to emphasis the flowers beauty
as it grows solo in a back garden full of weeds
on a breezy Sunday eve

A fine write and pic Kitty.
Beautiful. A joy to read. In my garden too, an unexpected surviving flowering plant in between the weeds gives so much pleasure.
Not to slight anyone, but this poem is like a flower among the weeds. It seems to grow and have a purpose in life, beyond the ordinary, "to try and catch the moon." Loved it. - Phil A.
