Just Maybe

Lionel Mandrake

If I was the Moon and you were a Star

And Life was inside a Mulberry Pie

I'd laugh and I'd eat all unearthly delights

And you'd look at me, yes, with a wink of your eye

And say, "How are we here in this place with a Pie?"

And then I would show you, it's really not hard

That people can think their way to a Star

With Rockets and Monsters and things of all sorts

(Especially the Green-Eyed Gobbledly Gorse)

Then after our trip to this place without sense

We'd sit back and relax on the gate of our fence

And Swing here and there and just maybe we'd try

To go back to the land in the Mulberry Pie
