The Traitor

Novissma Rose

This is me...
Battered and bruised.
My eyes gone black...
My lips turned blue...
Ravens are circling, high above...
Their whispers unheard by those below
"Who would have done this?" they cry
"Why did this happen?" the whisper
Tears falling... Their trembling bodies quiver at the horrific site before.
But alas...
Nobody cared for the fallen legend...
Left him there to die... Fed him to the wolves
But as soon as the ravens land... The body stirs
A mattered hand reaches for the sky... And instanly comes the dead mans cry...

"The traitor must die..."

Strongly gripping and hauntingly beautiful. Being betrayed is the worst feeling ever. I would like to know if the ravens symbolize the common people, to see if i got my interpretation of the poem right.
    Engaging poem!!

Your correct. The ravens symbolize the people that he knows but stand by and watch his pain.
