My mind is no longer,
The steel trap it once was.
The hinges are broken,
And the teeth, rusted,
And dull.
I struggle to remember,
The names of things
I should know.
I was once able,
To recite from memory.
Now, wisps of fragments,
Free-float passed,
My outstretched grasp.
I smile,
Because soon the lack of knowledge,
Will make me forget,
The bad parts.
