Day's End

RL Randall

Day's End

At day’s end,
the radiance of the sun
concedes to the night’s constellations.
Solos of songbirds
give way to the chorus of crickets.
And for a moment,
I set aside critiquing failures
to admire my visions
of fulfilling tomorrow’s dreams.
