Flatline

a thousand wishes

In 10 minutes, He will be walking out of this place

and stepping out into a hallway full of people.

In 10 minutes, He is going to overcome every bad

and uncertain emotion that he feels and is going to

take a leap of faith.

In 8 minutes, He's going realize that all his

fears are unnecessary and that he has the

power to be whoever he want to be.

In 6 minutes, He is going to stay inside of this room

Because he is also terrified of what waits outside.

In 5 minutes, He will lay in this bed and He will stare at

the wall, mustering up the courage to walk out that door.

4 minutes later, He never makes it, he hears a long beep, and

He closes his eyes. He feels himself drift up to another world

And all the pain drift away

"Finally"

He draws his last breath and slips away

Hello my new friend! I love this beautiful description of that teetering between life and death, minutes counting down to the end. Who hasn't imagined what this will be like. Very poignant, well done.

I appreciate it! and yes I think we all have thought about that moment at some point, but I like to think that instead of him dying, he´s actually finally living, you know? Well, thank you for taking the time to read!

Facing my own mortality is something I tend to think about now I'm getting older.
