The both of us

a thousand wishes

If you won't come to me

I'll come to you

If you won't walk to me

I'll run to you

And if you won't talk to me

Well I'll speak for you

Because you know you deny

That we're one not two

So if you won't see

I'll see for you

And if you could just believe

I could breathe for you

So that you would never die

And I would never lie

And say-

But we'll survive

I know you know

That we'll survive

That much is for sure

So if you can't love for me

I'll love for both of us

If you can't trust that we

Will never turn to dust

I'll still believe in us

Cause I live for us..

This is pretty sad and a bit optimistic too. Two people on the road, maybe going different directions though, but still together.

This poem made me think of Tess in the novel, Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy. The narrator’s love seems to be unconditional ❤️ Beautiful poem!

It’s an amazing classical novel which features a tragic beauty. A poetic and sad gripping novel. Highly recommend if you are into classics❤️
