From time to time I wonder
What’s on the other side of that door
Where most of my loved ones now live
And can I be a visitor
To be with families
And animals too
To share love and hugs
Long over due
So many things
I never got to say
Always something unexpected
Got in the way
But even beyond words
Emotions between Heaven and Earth
To look in familiar eyes
And see my own worth
Cause I miss them all
So much more than words can tell
But I know they’re in my heart
My heart’s deepest well
Sometimes I feel their presence
Within a metaphor
My thoughts always look
Beyond that door

Good write AP.
You having more success than me? I opened the door - and someone had bricked it up the other side. May have been KP. lol.
Let me get this straight Orchi. Someone blocked your door to KP, and you think it was KP. And you're complaining? 🙄
Oh, I shouldn't complain then.
I thought you was gonna write - When one door opens, another one slams in ya face'. Noooo!! Bit negative that.
What a lovely poem AP. However, would we value life as much if we could see our loved ones gone, everyday?
I would. 😁 Thanks Sax.
My mom passed away when I was 13 and this is truly a relatable poem. I do hope one day we can reunite with our lost ones "beyond the door." Wonderfully done!
When my dad passed last December, my last words to him were, "We're not going to say good-bye dad, just that we'll see you later." Thanks Rocky. 😉
Such a beautiful use of language! enjoyed reading your poem.
Maybe you want to check on mine too? I'd be happy if you leave a comment. I'ts always exiting to know what other people like about your work.
Thank you for reading and your compliment. Yes, I shall come by and see your work. 😊
Life beyond that door is so full of dreams AP.
Andy
Dreams that never let go Andy. Thanks. 😉
Beautifully prosed what each one of us have contemplated on sometime.
Thank you Suresh. It's human nature to look towards that door. 😉
