Petite Mort #2
She would invariably
smile
to herself
whenever recalling
those
exquisite
little
deaths of hers
she so often enjoyed
when they
were an item ..
And then, sometime
later
they would
inevitably
laugh till they cried
at the
meaning behind
the French
la petite mort ..
Since he
was inclined
to call
them her sigh naps
and then
she near died again
held safe in his arms ..

Ah, in this new wave of gender confusion will we come to recognise the confirmation of gender by the demonstrable capcity to experience la petite mort.
Who are we to interfere when the old ways are the... well they served us well enough i believe.
you may well have something there mate .. could be very tricky indeed .. or is that just an age thing .. is that even a saying these days 🙂
Bit of French there? I've swooned now. That'll teach me to translate stuff! lol.

A fresh look at recalling small deaths in this well crafted verse mon ami. We seem in tune with French phrases today Nev. - - just how do you it - -maybe telepathy ?............x
for some reason, I thought you might say something like that dear Fay ... funny innit 🙂 x
What could be better, love reminisced? All those moments that make us smile. Makes you wonder about those people who have a perpetual one on their face. And French to boot, well done!
and you, my dear Bella sure made this old fella smile .. & bigly, tooly too n true ................... mon cher ami 🙂
Somehow, I sense a passage of time and " those exquisite little deaths of hers" become the real thing, a "near died again, held safe in his arms" event.
If so, it's a sad poem, if not a joyous one. In any event it's a well-structured, intriguing, and sensual poem. - Phil A.
there is invariably more than one way of looking at anything and everything .. the secret, is in the seeing .. you have that gift Phil .. & I thank you for it here ... Neville
