Unexpected love

hapadalecki

Ever since I was little everyone always said “there’s someone out there for you, you’ll find them.”

For years upon years I laughed in their faces.

For years upon years I found boys who I thought were the one.

As I disregarded all the red flags and the bruises I was still searching and hoping that somewhere out-there was Someone. Someone for me.

After years of abuse and lies I finally gave up.

And Then I met you.

My knight in shinning armor.

The light at the end of the shitty tunnel I’ve been pushed through.
Our love wasn’t rushed, it was unexpected. Meeting you was like a breath of fresh air after drowning for so long.

The way you cherish my scars, not create them.

How you love my body, not berate it.

How you call me beautiful and not hot.

How you show me love, not hate.

How you’re just you. Absolutely perfect, you.

Our love may have been unexpected, but it was the best surprise I could’ve ever asked for.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is for all those people that have given up on love. Thinking that there is no one out there for you. I promise there is. I had given up for a long time. I was being used and abused. Then I found him. My person. Heā€™s the best thing I couldā€™ve ever asked for. Heā€™s shown me what true love is. I couldnā€™t ask for anything more perfect.
