To my dear best friend

sadkw33n

Wish that we could meet the way we used to do for years

Sit outside that same old church and talk about our fears

We used to smoke together, now I'm smoking on my own

For now our old discussions are the closest thing to home

How could i forget of the time we spent together?

Those are precious memories that i want to keep forever

It kind of hurts and it's so strange

How now we're many miles away

And I'm here reminiscing

How much time are we missing?

We are talking on the phone

But it's not the same at all

But i swear until time ends

We two will be best friends

So to my dear best friend, i promise this is not the end

I'll meet you in all the memories we shared

Though we are apart i won't even dare to cry

Because i know we are under the same sky

But i really miss you tonight

Buddy i remember all the nights we talked till late

About our lifes about our dreams about god and fate

I remember all the times when i dared to call you "brother"

You said no matter what we will not forget each other

I won't be there but i hope you'll still play our songs and dance

I hope you keep me in your heart though i belong to your past

It kind of hurts and it's so strange

How now we're many miles away

And I'm here reminiscing,

How much time are we missing?

We are talking on the phone

But it's not the same at all

But i swear until time ends

We two will be best friends

So to my dear best friend, i promise this is not the end

I'll meet you in all the memories we shared

Though we are apart i won't even dare to cry

Because i know we are under the same sky

But i really miss you tonight

I'll meet you in our memories... a very sweet way of saying it... such a sincere little song. Makes me start missing old friends. Thank you.

Thank you so much for commenting! I don't usually get a lot of comments...i appreciate it! I'm glad you liked it! It is more of a "lyric" thing rather than a poem but i guess that's my way of writing 😅... thanks again for your comment...i hope one day, sooner rather than later, you can perhaps reunite with your old friends. That'd be nice🙂

      sweet themes, really well written
      that you cherish your connections
at such a young age, is testimony
      to the wisdom
      you're cultivating, thanks for sharing

Thank you for your flattering comment! Although i'm far from social, i can understand the meaning our connections hold in our lives. So i am very thankful to have met those 4 people i am proud to call "my friends". We can't survive without others. I wish for you to connect with some people who will be special as well. Thanks for taking the time to read my poem!

I hope you keep me in your heart though i belong to your past
These lines are just beautiful! It’s so true that once friends move away it won’t be the same ,though the connection remains. Memories truly resurrect beautiful moments and beautiful people. I love this poem and the fact it has a hopeful ring to it!

Thank you. I'm so glad you liked it! I always thought that friends, real friends, are in a sense the family we choose for ourselves.

So true! I might not have a lot of friends but it would be heartbreaking to lose any of the friends that I consider to be genuine.
