Escape

M. Manan

Desperately in need of a new day,

a day not colored in a sad dreary gray.

I just want to wander away from this place,

dance to a world full of love and grace, and

swim in the sea of warmth, not freeze.

Every word spoken in the place I live

is filled with barbs and thorns, my flesh

melted into a grotesque frame.

I just wish to twirl with the winds, climb the mountains and become one with the ground,

travel through the valley of flowers.

Get me out of this tower of expectations,

and let me breath freely in another town.

Dreaming about a place with the perfect sunset,

and the awing rise, I fly to this place in my dreams.

I dream, I desire and I get tired of all the sleep,

when my feet settle in the dust,

whatever will I do with this wanderlust.
