climate change centre stage

fairly_random_poetry

The children and Greta

tell us we’ve gotta do better.

But politicians push them down;

make us try to forget her.

Ice caps are melting,

oceans are rising.

Polar bears are dying;

is that really surprising?

Deserts are growing,

in the mountains it’s not snowing.

Someone get Trump;

gotta take him there and show him!

Plastic in the ocean,

causing so much commotion.

But the plastic giants ain’t moving,

no interest, no motion.

The oceans are bottles of coke;

it’s well beyond a climate joke.

The weather’s getting strange;

so don’t deny climate change.

The world is heating up

and we’re just not doing enough.

Take responsibility,

act your age;

because this problem

is centre stage.

Sustainable, recyclable,

reusable, renewable;

we’ve got to do it all,

because this world is beautiful!

It only happens

if we all take action.

So do your bit,

give sustainability

some traction.

Tell the next generation

we’re giving

their world back to them!
