Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly Kisses

We started our journey hand and hand

Absolutely no thoughts that it would ever end

True love if there has ever been but now

Two hearts that will never mend

The cry of an angel

Brought us the peace and love that we had always dreamt of she taught us so much but most importantly, how to love

A year goes by and with an loving sigh

The sweet little angel becomes two. We would have taken so much back if we only knew.

God looks down sees our struggles and decides we need strength. He took the angels. How so very cruel.

Sleepless nights and rage filled days. We held onto one another and we often prayed. God sees our struggles again. He places us in the mouth of Hell to show us where we will soon dwell.

He casts you in and leaves me there. Days drag by. Weeks, months a year. All the time I set alone listening for my angels to cry. Wanting, begging "please let me die!"

God sees our struggles. He sends our final test. He has blue eyes and makes my heart hurt deep in my chest. We start to separate the pain of our past. But with fears that it will never last.

We had hope our heart would make it all pass. But not so because soon my new heart I had just began to grow is taken along with my calamity I had just began to sow. He was so precious and so new. We would take it all back if we only knew.

I reach out for you, I feel you reach too but the distance from our pain keeps us apart. Who would have ever thought we could ever end, now we are just two hearts that will never mend.

    I couldn't help relating
    your words to Pink's lyrics
    from the song, 'Who Knew':
    ''If someone said
    three years from
    now
    You'd be long
    gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
    'Cause they're all wrong
    I know better
    'Cause you said forever
    And ever
    Who knew''
    (admittedly the songs lyrics refer
    to a more youthful, love
but still I couldn't help connecting
    that same disbelief and anguish
that things had to end-up, the way
    they did)
    thanks for sharing, I hope
there is till more pages to
    both
    of your Responsible Parent's, stories
    either with 2nd chances
    or new beginnings..
(and for the loss, your words
    hint at)
    I can only, empathise
    and praise your strength
    for overcoming, or
    at least learning to breathe
    through the pain..
    stay Strong! dear poet
    I wish you peace
