God is not a magic Genie!

God is not a magic genie.

we need help, we need money,

we need it now, and on the double, it’s not funny.

All our so-called friends refused to help

claiming this, or that emergency,

or if you could have come earlier, unfortunately,

so we are just dependent on ourselves,

but we can’t do anything,

we don’t have the resources,

we were too busy partying and buying unnecessary bling.

Then all of a sudden we remember God.

Yes,… God will help us out of the jam we had created,

He will help us and spare the rod.

Although all the time when life was good,

We never spared a thought for our God.

Except for the meaningless platitudes of,

Thanks be to God, and to God we give thanks,

and bless you for this food.

But we don’t give him any meaningful time.

We just mentioned him in passing,

because we’re too busy spending every nickel and every dime.

But never mind we didn’t need him then, but we need him now, now were asking.

So come let’s call on God,

let’s say a little prayer and give him a little prod.

Come on God help me out here,

Can you not see the worry and the fear.

So you’ve urgently prayed to him.

So that you can get out of your dilemma,

but nothing happens,

nothing at all.

Now your faith starts to grow dim.

Your problem gets bigger and bigger,

you don’t understand why God is not helping you out here,

so you drown your sorrows in beer and shed a tear.

But please understand God is not a magic genie.

You don’t just rub a lamp and he appears to do your bidding

God is our father who in his wisdom knows what is right and when to let it be.

Sometimes he knows that you need to learn a lesson,

Sometimes he knows the time is not right,

Sometimes he lets you fight,

and sometimes he makes it right,

right away.

In faith, you must let him deal with your situation in his time.

Sometimes he leads you to find your own solution, isn’t that just sublime,

or he brings in other people,

or he performs miracles,

God is always in his prime.

Believe in him,

and he will believe in you,

sometimes he will guide you,

sometimes he will assist you,

sometimes he will teach you,

but always he will be true.

A magic genie would grant you every wish,

including the one that will lead you to disaster.

Only God knows which move is right,

which path is correct, to lead you out of the wilderness faster.

So be happy that God is not a magic genie,

Instead, he is the almighty father that looks after me.
