How utterly wonderful it would be
For a aging lover to see how his lover sees him
This is also true for the lady
If only for a short duration
A minute or two will do
A whole new image world would appear
He looks in the mirror and finds
Turkey throat
Pot belly
Jowls
Liver spots
Bumps and lumps
Crooked fingers
Gray hair and emerging forehead
Hair growing everywhere except where it's supposed to
Ears and nose starting to take over his entire face
And other stuff he can't quite remember
And she sees a handsome stud soul mate for the ages
She looks in the mirror and sees
Sagging stuff
Thinning hair
Spots and blemishes
Figure eight turning into a different number
Lipstick needed here
Powder required there
Accent this
Cover over that
And what's that behind me?
And he sees his calendar girl and playmate of the year forever
Whose view is true?
If you have to ask, take another look.
See yourself as your lover sees you and life will immediately improve for both of you
