There's a great fire
The fire of dead and long-lost desire
I desire to be free, to be unapologetically me
I desired to be someone I imagined myself to be
I desire this because I am not free
My hands are tied I AM NOT ME
I had my directions but I got lost
I was late to realise that nothing comes without a cost
I sold my pain in exchange for sorrow
I killed my present and won an even cursed tomorrow
So now I pass by hiding from days
Comfortably alone and empty in this godforsaken maze
I am searching for a bright light and that's for a reason
I think this might not be my lucky season
When my time finally comes, I'll scream it to all things dark in me
This is what I held on for. Come meet the brave fighter I have in me

- Comment from author about the poem: It's about the feeling of being alien to yourself and losing the grip over your own life due to a thousand small and big moments which you could never have guessed take you to a point where you feel low and where each day every waking moment becomes a constant regret.
