An Image of Rapture

spellbound

Listlessly, I linger.

Encased in a vision --

My whimpers are fleeting,

As minute as the whispering lark.

Lying in wait,

I welcome your dexterous fingers,

Clasped dispassionately beneath the puffy magnolias swaying in the breeze.

“Be gentle,” I say,

My heart fluttering as we move in unison. I mimic the motions of a fish gliding;

I imagine the summery sunlit streams that promised danger in the frostbitten winters,

Coming alive again, reminiscent of my childhood dreams

Beckoning the families who yearn to frolic

And float upon the vivid waters, glistening well into the evenings

Colliding past dawn.

      Thank you! I wanted it to be quite sensual.
