A little thought

JudyStella

When walking in the garden,

I found a fallen leaf.

It was brown and old,

the same which had once been so green.

I looked closely and thought,

Now, being dead,

It was finally at peace!

    A fallen leaf found
Which had once been so green
    Is it now at peace?

Is that a haiku? Good thought Judy!

deep thoughts to have about a leaf. and to return to the soil to start life anew. maybe one day.

I guess even a little leaf can put you into deep thought. In a world that's constantly changing, anything that stops "moving" is considered dead. And perhaps in death there's a profound peace, because you don't have to move or struggle anymore and you can just be. That's what your poem made me think about. Great job! Thank you for sharing ๐Ÿ˜‰

And that fallen leaf that lives no more is from a tree that lives on. Wonderful poem Judy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nicely put, Judy. I missed the fact that it was a (nearly) haiku until I read the above comment from Tallisman

Thankyou so much! I should have mentioned it in the category that it was a haiku, but at the time of writing I wasnโ€™t sure of it as well๐Ÿ˜‚
