Memory Digger

DestinysPerspectives

I am a memory digger.

I should leave them in their graves.

But at night I dig them up.

Maybe I am a masochist?

The rest of the world forgets.

They use vices to run away.

But I run towards the pain.

Then I create poetic

memorials for the pain.

So I never forget the

pain that has carved me

into someone wiser.

So I never forget the

pain that has carved me

into someone stronger.

So I never forget how

far I have come.

    so true
when we can face that broken
    reflection
    and think, through
    those shards of engraved, hurt
we make immortal, by trying so hard
    to repress them..
we empower our opportunities for personal growth
and the more we can face our own pain
    the less effect, the suffering
other people try to inflict on us
    will have..
    (a great message!
    thanks for sharing, dear poet
    may you ever, remain
    imperfectly, Perfect
    in your strive to become
    the 'who', you can admire
    in the mirror)

Thank you for your sweet insightful comment! I am so grateful to be in the poetry community. It has honestly changed my life for the better in so many ways. Talking to so many people from around the world and reading their experiences through the poetry they create has really changed my perspective. This entire experience has helped me to heal. I still have wounds that need healed but I am so much farther on the healing journey now than I have ever been. I also have people who tell me by sharing my experience it helps them to heal. It makes my day knowing that. I always look forward to your comments that make my day/night! Thank you again.

        it's all You, kind poet
without you penning the words and bravely choosing to share
none of it would be possible, so reward yourself on my behalf
and stay Strong, for our healing journeys be long
but this rare sunshine days and their gifted smiles
make up for it, I think
        🥂😊
