Rose

kitty the naughty poet

The sun overhead burns bright

as the rose petals dry and fall

one

      by

          one

        to the ground

the stem and leaves turn brown

shrivelled up

as the water evaporates into steam

cracking the earth beneath

a dying rose tells a thousand tales

of missed love and opportunities

for a better end.

    Brilliant!
    decadently, so
    thank you, dear Poet
    (that one-by-one
    was a lovely touch
    and well reflected
    by the italic, stunted
    last few words..
    really well executed
    visual and form creativity
    to your, as-ever
    delightful poetry)
