Why Fly The Stars and Bars
Why fly the Stars and Bars?
Is it a reminder,
this great experiment
was never meant for me,
ever to think about being free?
Why fly the Stars and Bars?
Maybe to show
the feelings that wouldn’t die,
and how it makes your heart
swell with pride
Why fly the Stars and Bars?
You say, “for God, country
and all that is right”.
Not my God or country,
Don’t you really mean
all that is white?

- Comment from author about the poem: I know the difference between the battle flag of Virginia and the Stars & Bars of the Confederacy, but many do not. Consider this about flying either of the two.

LOL all that is white and with armed teenagers talking about their rights whilst ignoring the rights of others.
The first stanza goes to your point. Today is Flag Day, I always wonder how one reconciles the Stars & Stripes with the Stars & Bars.
