When I see you try but fail,
I strengthen you with my kind words
But why do I become frail
when I meet with setbacks in my own world?
When you mess up and make mistakes
I’m quick to forgive, don’t you worry!
But why can’t I do that for myself
instead of just feeling miserable and sorry?
I try my best to lift you up
when I see you stumble and fall,
But why do struggle to get up?
I’m also prone to falling after all.
I am as kind as I can be
trying to help other people at my best.
But when it comes to me,
I can’t put my mind at rest.
But I remind my inner child
that she deserves the love she gives,
I give her the permission to unwind
and put her heavy mind at ease.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem has a general idea about me being kind towards other but struggling to be kind to myself. I think many of us can relate from time to time when it happens. When I was in one of those moods, instead of just sitting and feeling bad, I decided to write this poem to express myself and allow myself to relax.

Good write P.
Yes, we can be kind to ourselves as well as to others.
Sometimes we may be nasty to ourselves, as if kicking ourselves around the floor like rubbish - a strange image to picture literally! lol.
Thank you!!
