The roses petals flicker in the darkness
like flames make up the flowers beauty
a single golden light burning high for the stem
teased out in a leafy fan
shivering up the black of night like
smoke to form each individual petals delight
This rose reminds me of your heart
shining golden in nightmare darkness
each branch of golden love
wrapped around my essence
glinting against my black heartbeat
keeping it beating as long as you are by my side
my own giver of light
