It Was Dark

Areon101

I remember when I was in the black woods,

my hair long and wet like white hoods,

gasping for air while my ghost was walking away,

as my soul escapes my morality starts to decay.

I swear you can visualize the most,

when you really can't see a thing,

and the voices they start to sing,

next thing you know it's Rite of Spring.

Why am I out here deep in the forest where time bends,

the wolves howl at me like I'm one of their friends.

I look around searching for my lost identity,

but now I don’t remember who I was meant to be.

Oh Lune, I love the way that you croon to me,

your infinite innocence pure like white virginity.

A scream in the night, ever so quiet and peaceful,

but silence in the darkness, is even more fearful.

I realize that nothing else really matters,

my heart, it crumbles, breaks and shatters.

My insides start to churn and twist,

While I patiently wait for someone to assist.

I dream of all of life’s wonders secretly in disguise,

when I wake up and realize the real world, it's real lies,

time flies but soon enough this beautiful illusion dies,

everything turns into nothing, the punishment into prize.

Open your eyes, and you will see nothing.

Keep them closed and who knows, maybe it'll be stunning.

Sometimes to really see the bigger picture,

take a step back and question every feature.

How many delusions can we call reality,

we live a lie eating fruits from the middle tree.

absorbing the lies that we obtain from society,

questioning everything we’re supposed to be.

Honestly, doesn't it hurt knowing that, knowing hurts,

cuz yeah a lie's bad, but the truth is even worse.

The sword of justice cuts but does not heal,

as the shield of lies protects but does not seal.

You’ve shattered me, battered me,

took my heart out of my chest and left a cavity.

All that’s left is a dark space,

as my memories start to erase.

Your words have broken every part of me,

distorting everything as far as I can see.

You’re actions bury me underneath the ground,

brightness blinds me as I’m stripped of sound.

Water fills my lungs,

your words, your tongues,

intoxicate me as I fall deep,

into my forever sleep.

Now let your flowers console you,

as you lie beneath waiting in queue.

Your fate is far from my hands, my sweet

as you dance before Hades’ feet.
