AT YOUR SERVICE

Osei Zion

At your service, a slave
Though I'm not a slave
It's only a trance
Though I never slept
All can do all things

I shy away
Though I have what it takes
I marvel not at what you are
Though I don't show it in my face

I pay respect
Though I'm rather the good pamphlet
I do my best
Though none is perfect

I blame nature
Though I don't blame
I hold on
Though I have no fame
I'm not a slave. It's a trance

    you forget, dear Poet
    many more, 'of Us'
    are busy
    pushing our neighbours
    off-of life's ladder, just
to get one more step, closer
    before we can start
    being chosen for elevated
    enslavement..
    yeah, that's the herd majority
    we represent
that's how much our mind's have been warped
we wage wars, child vs child
    while those in power
get doctor's notes for their children
or have them placed in officer roles
like, safe at the back of the line
    like royalty, that love displaying
    their soldier uniforms
as-if, their existence is a service
    for us...
    yeah..
    yeahhh, right? lol
well here's to your pristine uniforms
coming our of battles, as spotless
    as they entered them
so you cam visit, veteran hospitals
    like 'equals'
    yeah
    yeahhh, right? lol
'For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
    But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
    An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees!'
    from Kipling's 'Tommy'
    (
    https://mypoeticside.com/show-classic-poem-15386
    )
and we're all just modern 'Tommy's'
waiting for our turn, to be useful
    that's how, warped
'they've' devalued the worth of a
    life
nihilism and atheism as their tools
    enslaving us
with our very tools for self-emancipated
    freedom...
