The new questions of Russia’s intelligentsia

Ras ad-Din

What? A gang? A turmoil? Revolution?What? A cry? A murder? Persecution?What? A cut? A shot? Err… blood? A riot?What? A boy? A girl? A gender bias?

Why? They’re weird? They’re gay? They’re messing with us?

Why? They see, they hear, they breathe, they’re near us?
Why? They read, they write, they say, they think wrong?
Why? They’ve lived around us for far too long?

Who? Myself? A Nazi? Never! No!
Where? In here? Believe me, it’s a show.
How can you call us names while it is us
Who defeated Hitler, saved you… Jesus!

    that warping prism of perspective
    when we all realise
we must look beyond good and evil
    to glimpse inhumanity's
    spinelessly, blinkered convenience
    of posing, humanity..

Thank you! I sincerely hope the human in humanity will prevail.

Very well written piece Ras. Leave the politics to thepoliticians and let's just get on with living. They can all war amongst themselves while the grown ups creat something much better.
