Yes, it’s been a long time
Dare I say, too long
But you’re no stranger in my mind
Though we went our separate ways
A part of you stayed here with me
A part I’ve grown quite fond of
And it’s become a part of me
I’ve never expected
Anything from you
But at sight of your smile
My heart was smiling too
It’s so good to hear your voice
And to know it’s not my imagination
A voice I remember like yesterday
You’ll have to pardon my elation
Since we saw each other last
I’ve traveled many roads
With fond memories of you
Lightening every burdening load
Where do we go from here?
Into the future, together or apart
Either way you know
You’ll always be in my heart
I wish you well Sharon
In all that you do
And I’ll always be right here
With a smile inspired by you

Thanks Sax, I believe that everyone has someone who impacts their life beyond anyone or anything else in their lifetime. And even though I told her so before she left town, I'm sure she probably has no idea that it's even more true today, over 50 years later. 😁
